ANNANDALE-ON-HUDSON, N.Y. - For the second straight match, Bard played one of the top teams in the Liberty League, and for the second straight match, it was a sweep.
The Bard College women's tennis team lost its second straight match after four straight wins, falling to powerhouse Vassar, 9-0, on Wednesday night.
Vassar (1-0) was led by freshman Ava Sadeghi (Glendale, CA), who defeated
Sofia Commito at No. 1 singles, 6-1, 6-2, and teamed with senior Joy Backer (Del Mar, CA) to defeat
Julia DeFabo and
Jean Wong at No. 1 doubles, 8-1. Vassar didn't lose a set in singles and lost only one game in doubles.
Next up for Bard is a non-conference match at Western Connecticut State University on Oct. 14.
