MAHWAH, N.J. - The Bard College women's tennis team lost a non--conference match to Ramapo College on Saturday, 7-2.
Bard won matches at No. 2 and No. 3 singles. At No. 2, sophomore
Jean Wong dropped the first set against senior Jywel Almirante (Newton, NJ), then rallied to win the match in a tiebreaker, 1-6, 6-1, 10-7.
At No. 3,
Nelle Plotkin breezed past Ramapo senior Nicole Pitts (Pompton Lakes, NJ), 6-1, 6-2.
Wong and Plotkin were edged by Almirante and Pitts at No. 2 doubles, 8-6.
Bard, 4-3 overall, will next play Wednesday in the continuation of a match suspended by rain at Mount Saint Mary College. Bard is up 4-1 in that match.
Ramapo is 8-2.
