BROOKLYN, N.Y. - Bard College downed NYU-Poly Sunday by a score of 80-72.
Bard was led by sophomore
Forrest Alvarez-Ringer's (New York, NY) 22 points in a mere 17 minutes due to foul trouble.
Bard surged to an early lead behind 9 first half points from senior
David Polett (Little Rock, AR) and 8 first half points from sophomore
Yonah Greenstein (New York, NY). NYU-Poly cut into the lead but the Raptors maintained a 7 point halftime lead.
In the second session the Raptors were led by senior
Justin White (New York, NY) who broke the all-time Bard College assist record on this day. White passed Andrew McCormack's ('06) 385 assist mark by totaling 5 assists to go along with 15 points. With NYU-Poly making a late charge it was Alvarez-Ringer who came through with two late baskets to seal the victory.
The sophomore totaled 16 points in the second frame with 6 of those coming in the last two minutes.
For the Raptors it was their second win of the season as they look to get hot down the stretch. Up next is Mount Saint Mary College on Tuesday at 8:00 PM in Newburgh, NY.
