Bard blanked in Skyline semis

Bard managed just one shot on goal in a playoff loss.
FARMINGDALE, N.Y. - The Bard College women's soccer team lost, 2-0, to Farmingdale State in the Skyline Conference semifinals on Tuesday afternoon.

The game was scoreless at halftime, but the Rams struck with the eventual game-winner in the 71st minute. Sophomore Christina Merrill (Levittown, NY) took a pass from sophomore Carly Schneider (Merrick, NY) and dribbled past Bard goalkeeper Amy Strawbridge (Indianapolis, IN) to score.

With just three minutes left in the game, sophomore defender Yvonne Santos (Hicksville, NY) scored from 20 yards out to make it 2-0. It was Farmindale State's 10th shot on goal. Bard managed one shot on goal.

Bard, 10-9 overall, awaits a potential bid to the Upstate Eastern Collegiate Athletic Association tournament. Those pairings are to be announced on Monday.
