NEWBURGH, N.Y. - Bard College freshman
Brianna Bean (Kaneohe, HI) scored an unassisted goal in each half on Thursday night to lead the Raptors to a key 2-0 Skyline Conference win over Mount Saint Mary College.
In the 33rd minute, Bean took possession after a misplay by a Mount Saint Mary defender and lofted a shot over the goalkeeper's head inside the far post. In the 63rd minute, Bean struck again, this time off a rebound produced by a scramble in front of the Blue Knights' goal.
Bard, 6-2 in Skyline action and 7-7 overall, controlled the game, forcing Mount keeper Megan Cotta to make 10 saves. Bard freshman
Amy Strawbridge (Indianapolis, IN) made two saves.
Next up for the Raptors is NYU-Polytechnic, at 3:30 on Saturday as part of Family Weekend.
