DANBURY, CT – The Bard College men's tennis team defeated the Western Connecticut Wolves on a windy Tuesday afternoon, 5-2. With their fifth victory, the Raptors are tied with the 2014-15 team in wins.
Nick Oh and
Blake Kendall fought for a 6-3 win at No. 1 doubles.
Faisal Jones and
Ciaran Chamberlain challenged Western Connecticut but dropped No. 2 doubles 4-6.
At No. 3 doubles,
Thanasis Kostikas and
Peter Trimble combined to win 6-1.
Oh clinched the match at No. 1 singles, 7-5, 6-4. At No. 2 singles, Kostikas claimed a win, 6-4, 6-2. Kendall won 6-2, 6-1 at No. 3 singles.
At No. 4 singles, Jones won the first set 6-2 before his opponent found some consistency, coming back 6-4, 6-0. Trimble celebrated a 6-2, 7-5 result at No. 5 singles. Chamberlain completed the singles wave, 1-6 4-6 at No. 6 singles.
The Raptors host Manhattanville on Thursday at 3 p.m.
