The Bard College baseball team dropped its mid-week game against Williams on Tuesday afternoon, 16-6.
Angus Lunt-Woodward led the team going 2-of-3 with two runs and a walk. A pair of hits came from
Jack Leandri,
Sergio Hormazabal,
Jack Burcell and
Cal Anna, while
Avery Melton had a season high two hits. Burcell,
Elias Grosfoguel, and
Xavier Webb had an RBI each, while Anna had two RBIs.
Bard started strong in the top of the first, slating two runs from an RBI single by Burcell, followed by a RBI groundout by Grosfoguel.
Ryan Lora started on the mound for the Raptors and had a slow start as the Ephs scored six in the bottom of the first frame.
Williams scored one or more runs in all the innings except for the second inning, as Lora held the Ephs scoreless. Bard tried to reduce the deficit against Williams, scoring a run on the fourth off an RBI groundout from Webb, then two runs in the fifth inning off an error by the Ephs and an RBI single by Anna. Anna brought home one more run in the top of the seventh inning off an RBI groundout.
Lora finished with two strikeouts in 3.0 innings of work, while
Emmett O'Brien and
Graham Williams each had a strikeout in 1.0 innings pitched.
Jackson Sprinzen and
William Oakley both made pitching appearances.
Bard will face New Paltz tomorrow at 4 p.m. for their last non-conference match.
