Match 1: Bard 3, VTSU-Johnson 1

Bard raced out to 4-0 lead. At 13-8, The Raptors went on a 7-1 run that extended it to 20-9. The Badgers got back in the mix with back-to-back points, but a Bard 5-1 run from there sealed it. The Raptors had 10 kills to only three errors and hit 0.269.

In set two, The Bard defense smothered VTSU-Johnson, allowing only one kill in 20 attempts. VTSU-Johnson did gain a 4-3 lead, and the Badgers kept the set close. At 7-6 Bard, the Raptors had three straight kills from Stein, Butler, and Waisler to take a 10-6 lead. The separation was short-lived with the Badgers getting to within two at 11-9. Over the remainder of the set, the Raptors were dominant with a 14-7 run.

Set three was close the entire way, and the Badgers went ahead 23-20 before a Raptor 5-1 surge brought up match point at 25-24. However, the match continued to a fourth after three straight by VTSU-Johnson.

A few 3-0 swings to start the fourth set made it 6-4 VTSU-Johnson. The Badgers led by three at 10-7 before a huge 16–4 Bard run allowed the Raptors to take control. McMahon dealt the final blow with a kill.

Match 2: Bard 3, VTSU-Johnson 0

The Raptors rode the momentum from the first match into the beginning of the second, going up 5-1. The Badgers fought back, going on a 6-1 run to take a 7-6 lead. Back-and-forth the set went until 10-10, when Bard won seven straight points. The lead was cut to four at 21-17 before a 4-1 run by Bard finished out the frame.

Bard had to make a comeback in the second set, finding itself down five at 14-9. The Badgers had a 22-15 lead when clutch play by the Raptors led to an 11-2 run to close strong. Bard limited its errors better than VTSU-Johnson, with four to the Badgers' eight.

The run extended into the start on the third, as Bard went ahead 7-2. Three straight from the Badgers kept it close. At 9-6, the Raptors gained some wiggle room, winning five of the next six points to lead 14-7. The Badgers tied it at 18-18, going on an 11-4 spurt. The set hung in the balance at 20-20 and 21-21 before Bard wrapped it up with a 4-1 run.
