DAVENPORT, FL – The Bard College baseball team fell to St. Norbert to conclude their spring game in Florida on Tuesday afternoon. Game 1 was 15-8, and Game 2 was 9-1 for the Green Knights. 

Xavier Webb, Angus Lunt-Woodward, and Elias Grosfoguel each had a hit in Game 1, while Jamie Fryer went 2-for-4. In Game 2, Sergio Hormazabal, Plenn, Johnny O'Connor and Jeremy Hall each had a hit. 

On the mound, six of the eight pitchers had at least one strikeout, with Tom Maxwell having two. 

Bard will take on Skidmore to open up their conference play. The Raptors will go to Skidmore on Friday for a single game at 4 p.m. and will play the Thoroughbreds for a doubleheader on Saturday starting at noon at Honey Field. 

Game 1: St. Norbert 15, Bard 8 

Bard got on the board right away in the top of the first, as Webb took advantage of scoring off a pitching error. SNC added three in the bottom of the first to take a 3-1 lead. Fryer hit a solo home run to center field in the top of the second to narrow down the deficit to one. 

The Raptors struck again in the top of the third with a two-out rally. Jack Leandri drew a walk, and Lunt-Woodward singled up the middle to have two runners on base. Grosfoguel ripped a double to right field to bring home Lunt-Woodward and Leandri to take a 4-3 lead. An error by St. Norbert brought Grosfoguel home to take a 5-3 lead. 

SNC battled back in the bottom of the third and scored 10 runs. Bard was unable to add more runs until the top of the sixth, on another two-out rally. A bases-loaded hit-by-pitch RBI by Lachlan Rudd, and a 2-RBI single by Webb brought Bard to life to go 8-14. SNC closed the game with a sac fly RBI to take the win 15-8. 

Game 2: St. Norbert 9, Bard 1 

St. Norbert kept their momentum going from the first game, as they scored four runs in the first inning. Bard wasn't able to get a hit until the bottom of the fifth with a single by Plenn. Hall hit an RBI single to left center to bring Plenn home and put Bard on the board. 

Bard tried to get some hitting going in the latter half of the game, but was unable to score a run, as the Green Knights took home a 9-1 win.
