ANNANDALE-ON-HUDSON, N.Y. – The Bard College men's basketball team was defeated by the Skidmore Thoroughbreds on Saturday afternoon, 74-52 at Stevenson Athletic Center.

Azikiwe Cuffy-Scott had 20 in back-to-back games, shooting 8-of-17 from the field and totalling five rebounds, two assists, and a steal. Sam Gibbs joined him in double figures, with 11. He added three rebounds.

Lucas Tovar played 38 minutes, collecting eight points, five rebounds, three assists, a block, and a steal. Seth Dyer posted five points, five rebounds, and an assist. Angelos Bratakos added five, while Bryce Sampah scored three. 

Skidmore raced out to a 13-2 start, but Bard answered with back-to-back scores from Tovar and Gibbs, plus two free throws by Cuffy-Scott to make it 13-9. The Thoroughbreds had seven straight over the next two minutes. It was 20-13 with 6:45 to play when Skidmore quickly put together a 10-1 run. Bard got back within single-digits at 33-25, but a three at the buzzer by Skidmore pushed it back to 11. Gibbs had nine first-half points to lead the Raptors. Skidmore was 7-of-17 from three, which was a stark contrast to Bard's 2-of-11. 

After halftime, each time the Raptors scored, the Thoroughbreds responded. Bard held Skidmore without a field goal for over four minutes in the second half, but the Thoroughbreds were able to tack on points from the line. At 5:44, Cuffy-Scott went on a personal 9-0 run capped off by a steal leading to a fastbreak dunk. However, the closest it got was 14. 

Bard faces Ithaca at home on Friday at 7:30 p.m.
