ANNANDALE-ON-HUDSON, N.Y. — The Bard College men's basketball team fell short against the Clarkson Golden Knights, 82-56, Saturday afternoon at Stevenson Athletic Center.

Angelos Bratakos had his second straight double-digit tally, with 12. He was efficient, shooting 5-of-8 and hitting both of his threes. Azikiwe Cuffy-Scott was next with eight points, adding three rebounds and an assist. 

Seth Dyer hit two threes and was active, leading to seven points, two assists, and two rebounds. Jalen Umstead contributed six points, three assists, two rebounds, a block, and a steal. Dimitrios Zampoukas made his first career start, totaling five points, seven rebounds, and an assist. 

Klaudius Skehel tallied five points, three rebounds, an assist, and a steal. Bryce Sampah had 11 minutes in the second half, notching four points, a career-high two blocks, an assist, and a rebound. Sebastian Matz hit a triple for his second career hit from downtown. 

Lucas Tovar had to exit early, playing only 11 minutes, recording two points and an assist. Luke Ravitz had a late fastbreak layup and added a rebound and an assist. Konstantinos Korfiatis had two points, Sam Gibbs contributed a steal and a rebound, while Michael Sweeney had an assist and a steal.

In the first 1:56, the Golden Knights blitzed the Raptors during an 8-0 start. Bratakos slowed the bleeding, but Clarkson extended the lead to 14 with an 11-3 stretch. Down 19-5, Bard started to take advantage of the Golden Knights' hot shooting cooling off. The Raptors went on a 12-2 run of their own to make it 21-17 and put some pressure on Clarkson. This time the Golden Knights just made deeper and deeper threes to catch fire again, going on an 18-2 run that was a backbreaker. The silver lining of the first half was that Umstead closed it with a three at the buzzer to make it a 15-point game, 43-28.

Cuffy-Scott converted an and-one at the start of the second half to cut it to 12, but that was the closest the Raptors got. A 17-1 Clarkson run over the next 5:09 slammed the door on Bard's hopes of a comeback. Bard was able to work out some issues on offense during a 12-2 run, but they needed more. Clarkson won the points off turnovers battle 12-5 in the second half, and for the game they scored 11 more second chance points than the Raptors. 

The Raptors head to Union next Friday at 7:30 p.m.
