ANNANDALE-ON-HUDSON, N.Y. – The Bard College women's tennis team could not defeat the RPI Engineers on Tuesday afternoon. However, the 14 total games won was the most by the Raptors against RPI since the 2015-16 season.

Paige Houghton got close at No. 1 doubles, winning two games and getting to deuce multiple times.
Patricia Santos and
Lisa Kyrtoka played at No. 2 doubles together for the first time this season and put up a good fight. At No. 3 doubles,
Jesse Radzik played with
Natalie Lagunes for the first time, where both showed their effort.
Castro played No. 1 singles and had staying power, being the last on court. After getting three games in the first set, she came back from 1-5 down in the second set, evening up the score at 5-5 before her RPI opponent escaped with the win. Castro's eight games at No. 1 singles is the most by any Raptor at that position against RPI since 2010-11. At No. 2 singles, Houghton battled and was able to get three games. Lagunes chased down every ball and withstood her opponent's pace at No. 3 singles.
At No. 4 singles, Santos tested RPI's player, forcing them to hit winners after long rallies. Radzik played a similar style at No. 5 singles, and she took the third game of the second set.
Sienna Roveda won by default at No. 6 singles.
Bard has another home match on Saturday at 1 p.m. against New Paltz.
