ANNANDALE-ON-HUDSON, N.Y – The Bard College women's volleyball team fell in straight sets against Emmanuel (Ma) on Saturday afternoon at Stevenson Athletic Center.
Bard struggled to find their rhythm against a power-hitting Emmanuel, as Bard only managed 16 kills while the Saints hit .425 with 43 kills.
Carmen Merrick led the Raptors with four kills, while
Ella Small led the team with seven digs.
Emmanuel took control of the first set, going on a 15-3 run. Bard had a mini run going on a 7-4 run, but the Saints kept pressing and closed out the set. The second set was a closer battle as both teams went back and forth with points. It wasn't until Emmanuel went on an 11-4 run that set the tone for the Saints and closed out the second set. The third set was fairly similar to the first set, with the Saints taking an early lead and not letting Bard come back.
The Raptors will travel to Mount Saint Mary on Tuesday for a 6 p.m. first serve.
