ANNANDALE-ON-HUDSON, N.Y. — The Bard College baseball team dropped a midweek non-conference game to Williams on Wednesday afternoon at Honey Field. 

Bard had six players with at least one hit, including Gavin Gonzalez and Rob DeBello with two hits and an RBI each. Andrew Plenn and Jimmy Famularo also got an RBI each. Tom Maxwell had his first collegiate start on the mound and threw 1.2 innings with two strikeouts. Three other pitchers came in as relief with Nikhil Newman and Evan Landsman each striking out a batter. 

Williams opened the scoring with five runs in the top of the first inning. However, Bard answered back with three runs in the bottom of the first inning with an RBI single by Plenn, then an RBI triple by Gonzalez and Gonzalez scoring off a wild pitch. 

The Ephs scored again in the next three frames, with Bard holding Williams scoreless in the top of the fifth and seventh inning. Bard scored in the bottom of the third to keep the fight alive with an RBI double by DeBello to right center and an RBI double to left field by Famularo. 

Bard will now host Union on Friday for a doubleheader, starting at noon. The game was originally scheduled for a doubleheader on Saturday with Bard traveling to Union on Friday but due to impending weather, the schedule was changed.
