Gallery: (10-9-2025) Women's Tennis vs Manhattanville

ANNANDALE-ON-HUDSON, N.Y. – The Bard College women's tennis team won at No. 3 doubles, No. 1 singles, No. 5 singles, and No. 6 singles against the Manhattanville Valiants on Thursday afternoon.

Maria Castro and Paige Houghton were in a close set at No. 1 doubles, where they led 4-2 before Manhattanville made a late surge. At No. 2 doubles, Patricia Santos and Catherine Chapel played well from the baseline, winning two games. Natalie Lagunes and Jesse Radzik were able to get four breaks en route to their 6-4 victory.

Castro moved to 7-2 at No. 1 singles, with a sixth straight-set victory. At No. 2 singles, Houghton battled hard in the first set as the Valiants forced the set to go into a tiebreak. With all the matches finished, the clinch match came down to No.2 singles, where the Valiants were able to clinch the match. Lagunes was unable to string back-to-back singles wins together, but she got three games at No. 3 singles.

Santos was involved in a battle at No. 4 singles, testing her opponent with well-placed shots. She earned the third and seventh games of the match. Chapel was able to take a straight-sets win with their smart play, limiting errors. At No. 6 singles, Radzik came through for the third time this season, moving to 3-2 at that position.

Bard's fall season concludes at Salve Regina on Saturday at 10 a.m.
