ANNANDALE-ON-HUDSON, N.Y. – The Bard College women's team put forth a strong, determined performance on Senior Day, battling VTSU-Castleton in a hard-fought 1-0 fall on Wednesday afternoon at Lorenzo Ferrari Soccer & Lacrosse Complex.

Bard and Castleton were even throughout the whole match, with the Spartans just breaking down the defense with a set-piece free kick in the 78th minute. In the first half, Bard had a 7-5 shot advantage, including five shots by senior Carina Cooke. Senior goalkeeper McKenna Reeves stayed busy as she totaled five saves, including two one-on-one situations.

Bard outshot Castleton 16-13 and created several dangerous chances, but couldn't find the back of the net against a disciplined Spartan defense. Cooke finished with seven shots and played the full 90 minutes. Mahlia Slaiby had four shots with two on goal. Goldie Siff came off the bench and had two shots, while Alexandria Loner, Maya Farwell, and Melania Hracs had a shot each.

Before the game, Bard celebrated their four seniors: Cooke, Farwell, Reeves, and Isabella Tramposch.

Bard will finish their home games on Saturday against RIT and will finish Liberty League play next week on the road.
