The Bard College women's soccer team showed grit and determination in a tough Liberty League matchup on Wednesday night, falling to Union, 2-0, in College Park Field.
Bard held Union scoreless through the opening 45 minutes, absorbing pressure and staying organized defensively. Goalkeeper
McKenna Reeves anchored the back line, coming up with several key stops to keep the game level at halftime. The Raptors had one shot that came from
Goldie Siff.
Union managed to break through in the 52nd minute, then added a second in the 67th to build their advantage. Bard continued to push, making adjustments and looking for ways into the attack, but Union's defense kept the Raptors from finding a clear chance. Reeves finished the night with eight saves, showcasing her steady presence in goal.
Bard will host St. Lawrence on Saturday for their Miles of Hope Kick it Pink game at 3 p.m.
