RECAP: Women’s Soccer falls at Sarah Lawrence

The Bard College women's soccer team battled against Sarah Lawrence but came up short on Saturday afternoon, with the host capturing a 7-0 victory.

Sarah Lawrence jumped on the offensive early on, getting three shots in the first 13 minutes of the match. The Raptors' first shot on goal was from Carina Cooke, but the Gryphons' goalkeeper, Bella Vaca, saved it. The Raptors were under constant pressure from the Gryphons, who added their first goal in the 27th minute and their second goal in the 33rd minute. The Raptors had two chances to equalize the game with back-to-back shots from Waleska Brito and Kaia Brady to the bottom center of the goal. However, SLU added a third goal in the 43rd minute to take a 3-0 lead entering the break.

In the second half, Sarah Lawrence kept their offensive momentum, having a 10-to-3 shots advantage. Bard's best chance to score came from Mahlia Slaiby, who had two shots, while Alexandria Loner had one shot. Goalkeeper Seymone Rosenberg had three saves during the game.

Bard will host Brooklyn College on Tuesday for a 6 p.m. kick-off.
