The Bard College women's soccer team dropped a narrow season opener, 2-0, against St. Joseph's (LI) on Saturday afternoon at Danzi Stadium.
The Raptors had two early attacks in the first 19 minutes from
Waleska Brito and
Carina Cooke. However, a yellow card from the Raptors gave St. Joseph's a penalty, leading to the game's first goal. The Golden Eagles secured the win by adding another goal in the last seven minutes of the game.
Bard had four first years start the game and an additional two first years entered the game. Senior
Seymone Rosenberg started in goal and had four saves. Junior
McKenna Reeves started the second half and recorded four saves on the day.
The Raptors will return to action this Friday, September 6th at 5 p.m. against Pitt-Bradford for their home opener.
