The Bard College women's volleyball team opened their 2024 season against Babson, falling to the Beavers, 3-0, on Friday night.
Bard squared off against a strong Babson team that returned 12 players from a team that went 25-7 and made its sixth consecutive NCAA Tournament appearance last season. The Raptors had a strong showing with a young team on the floor. First-years
Annika Flittie,
Grace Charles and
Xenia Vassou each notched the first starts of their collegiate careers, with Flittie tallying three kills on the night.
Charles and
LaeAnna Riley each had an ace, while Flittie added a block and four digs. Junior libero
Ella Small tallied six digs and an assist. Junior
Becca Wintjen added six assists and five digs.
The Raptors will be back in action tomorrow morning against Husson at 11 a.m. followed by an afternoon match against Maine-Presque Isle at 1:30 p.m.
