The Bard College women's volleyball team split a pair of matches on Saturday at Babson, defeating Maine Presque Isle, 3-0, after falling in five sets to Husson, 2-3.
Bard received strong efforts from a host of players, with first-year
Coral Cook pacing the team with 20 kills over the course of the two matches. Cook slammed her first collegiate double-digit kill performance with 13 against Husson and totaled seven aces on the day.
First-year
Annika Flittie totaled 12 kills and 18 digs over the course of two matches, including 10 digs against Husson. Fellow first-year
Xenia Vassou added 10 kills on the day and two block assists against Husson.
Sophomore
LaeAnna Riley served a career-high five aces against Husson and added another four against UMPI. First-year
Carmen Merrick tallied seven kills, with three aces against Husson. Junior setter
Becca Wintjen totaled 45 assists, including a career-high of 23 assists against Husson.
Bard will face Saint Elizabeth on Tuesday at 7 p.m. for their home opener at the Stevenson Athletic Center.
