Gallery: (4-17-2024) Women's Tennis vs RPI
ANNANDALE-ON-HUDSON, N.Y. – The Bard College women's tennis team fell to RPI on Wednesday afternoon.
Bard fought hard against a consistent RPI team. At no. 1 singles,
Hanna Okalava fought back from a set down and then 4-1 down to tie the second set 4-4. The Engineers No. 1 won her serve to go up 5-4 and Okalava saved one match point before falling 6-4 in the second set.
At no. 2 singles,
Maya Kelly rallied in her match, and mixed up her shots against a tough baseliner opponent. Kelly won a game each set, with several games going to sudden death deuce. No. 3 singles
Paige Houghton fought a heavy hitter from RPI and won two games in the first set.
In doubles, Bard's no.2 pairing of Houghton and Donna Mulco won a game against a strong volleying team, while the no. 3 doubles pair of
Lola Mainieri and Lisa Krytoka battled hard despite being unable to win a game.
Bard will travel to Vassar on Friday for a 3 p.m. start.
