ANNANDALE-ON-HUDSON, N.Y. – The Bard College baseball team fell to Skidmore on Sunday afternoon in a doubleheader at Honey Field.
It was the battle of the starting pitchers in both games, with the Thoroughbreds edging the Raptors 4-0 in Game 1 and 6-0 in Game 2.
The Raptors were led by
Gavin Gonzalez, who totaled four hits.
Jimmy Famularo and
Michael Kurlan each had three hits on the day.
Aidan Risse started Game 1 for Bard and had a career-high 12 strikeouts, allowing only one run.
Jamie Fryer yielded three runs in a relief appearance out of the bullpen.
In Game 2,
Bryant Elliott started on the mound, struck out seven, and also allowed only one run.
Nikhil Newman and
Charlie Lehr worked in relief. Newman struck out three, while Lehr struck out two.
Bard will travel to RPI on Friday to start its conference series against the Engineers. First pitch is at 3:30 p.m.
