ANNANDALE-ON-HUDSON, N.Y. – The Bard College men's volleyball team took a set from #16 Hobart but ultimately fell 3-1 to the Statesmen on Friday night at the Stevenson Athletic Center. Set scores were 9-25, 25-22, 16-25, and 17-25.
Bard (5-8) really utilized a variety of offensive weapons while showing off defensively at the net. The Raptors were led by first-year
Kincade Avery with seven kills and five digs. Fellow classmate
Lincoln Grisso contributed six kills and three block assists.
Graduate student
Angel Obergh led the team in digs with nine and added five kills along with an ace. First-year
Ben Davis started in tonight's game and had a great all-around performance with four kills, an ace, two digs, and a block assist. Sophomore
Georgi Chikolov added 20 assists and an ace, while first-year
Micah Kelleher had a team-high two aces.
The Raptors out-blocked Hobart 6-4, but Hobart's offensive production helped the Statesmen take home the victory.
Bard will be back in action tomorrow for a tri-match against Buffalo State at 11 a.m. and then Purchase at 3 p.m.
