DAY 2 RECAP: Dower with new school record; Coronel qualifies for 100 Fly finals

Junior Olivia Dower beat two school records in the 50 and 100 butterfly, while junior Freddy Coronel qualified for the evening finals of the 100 Fly to conclude Day 2 of the Liberty League Championships.

Dower, who competed in the 100 butterfly, swam a personal best with a time of 1:04.89. Her first 50 yards was counted as an official time for the school record. Dower replaced Natasha Cameron's time in the 50 (30.23) and 100 fly (1:05.69).

On the men's side, Coronel was the lone Raptor to qualify for the evening finals, qualifying in the "C" final. He swam a near personal best, just off by .46 seconds, and finished 19th out of 24 but third in his "C" final. Coronel gave the Raptors their first points of the Championship with six.

Every Raptor that competed in this morning's prelim each set a new personal best.

Bard will be back in action tomorrow at 10am for prelims.
