ANNANDALE-ON-HUDSON, N.Y. – The Bard College women's soccer team battled hard against Union on Saturday afternoon at Ferrari Field.
Senior goalkeeper
Seymone Rosenberg racked up eight saves against Union and tallied 248 career saves in four years of playing to become Bard's all-time career saves record holder, surpassing Kelsey O'Brien's 243 career saves.
Bard and Union were tied throughout most of the first half. The Raptors had a chance to score first with a shot by
Waleska Brito to the top right corner, but it was saved by Union's goalkeeper, Maya Koster. Union scored their first goal in the 23rd minute on a breakaway. Sam Friedman fed Taylor Bovardi, who found the back of the net. The Raptors held the Garnet Chargers to only one goal in the first half, with two saves from Rosenberg.
In the second half, Union changed gears and pressed their offense to Bard's defense as the Garnet Chargers scored their second goal within a minute of play in the second half. Union added four additional goals to take home their first Liberty League win of the season.
Bard will face CCNY on Monday at noon for a non-conference game at Ferrari Field.
