ROCHESTER, NY – The Bard baseball team opened the Liberty League crossover series on Saturday evening, dropping the first game to the University of Rochester by a 10-2 score.
The Raptors will play Rochester again on Saturday at noon, and if they win, will play a second game to determine which team advances to the Liberty League playoffs.
On Saturday, Bard jumped out to an early 2-0 lead in the top of the second inning with a two-RBI single from
Jared Toby, but Rochester came back with runs in each of the next six innings to earn the win.
Both Toby and
Jake Stacey went 2-for-4 from the plate,
Sam Dumper added hit, and
Michael Kurlan and
Jack Williamson each had a walk and a run.
Dean Brown finished the game with scoreless inning on the mound.
