Box Score QUINCY, Mass. – The Bard men's volleyball team closed its 2023 season with a 3-0 loss at Eastern Nazarene on Saturday afternoon. With the loss, the Raptors finish in 7th place in the NECC, just outside a postseason spot.
The match was the final one for a pair of Bard seniors,
Angel Obergh and
Quincy Ross, who celebrated Senior Night on Thursday in front of a large crowd in Stevenson Athletic Center.
Bard's debut season in the NECC saw the team earn wins over Russell Sage College and Lesley University.
On Saturday, Eastern Nazarene rode a strong performance in set one to set the tone for the day, winning 25-6, 25-14, and 25-15 to take the match 3-0.
Ty McGlynn had seven kills for Bard, and Obergh and
Isaiah Ortiz had two apiece.
Georgi Chikolov had five services aces, and Obergh added four more.
The Raptors close the season with a 9-16 record in head coach
Tyler Zowaski's first season, with a young team and optimism for continued success. Obergh and Ross leave a legacy of tenacity and commitment that the team will be able to build off for years to come.
