ANNANDALE-ON-HUDSON, NY – The Raptors opened a three-game set with RPI on Friday afternoon at Honey Field, with the Engineers taking a 14-5 win.
Bard will visit RPI on Saturday for a doubleheader in Troy.
The Raptors jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the third inning on Friday behind a two-RBI
Jake Stacey double, but RPI opened the game up with seven runs in the top of the fourth. Bard pulled three back in the bottom of the inning with RBIs from
Mike Lynch,
Bryant Elliott, and
Jared Toby, and the game remained 7-5 until the eighth inning, when RPI put the game beyond reach with six more runs.
Michael Kurlan went 3-for-4 from the plate, and Toby,
Sam Dumper, and
Nick Hubbe all had two hits in four at-bats.
Kane Morgan threw one and two-thirds scoreless innings in relief with three strikeouts.
Saturday's doubleheader starts at noon at RPI.
