Bard (5-1, 3-0 Liberty League) came out on top in an even matchup that had eight lead changes and three ties. Heinze had his first double-double of the season with 19 points and 10 rebounds. He shot 8-of-11 from the field and 3-of-6 from the line. Junior Sean Wilcox had his second double-digit points this season with 12 points. He added an assist and three blocks.

Senior Azriel Almodovar had a team-high four steals and five points and seven rebounds. Sophomore Connor Melis added five points and two rebounds.

The Raptors finished the game shooting 50 percent from the field (23-of-46) out rebounding Union (5-3, 0-3) 34-30. In the last 50 seconds of the game, Bard had a two-point lead, 62-60. A block from Wilcox, followed by a steal from Almodovar, then topped off by free throws from Almodovar and Panagiotounis, gave the Raptors the victory.

It is the first time since the 2015-16 season that the Raptors have gone 3-0 in league play and the first time since the 2003-04 season that the Raptors started 5-1.

Bard will host Russell Sage on Saturday at 4 p.m. for their Faculty and Staff Appreciation game at Stevenson Athletic Center.
