ANNANDALE-ON-HUDSON, N.Y. — The Bard College men's basketball team used a second-half surge to defeat Russell Sage 69-49 on Saturday afternoon at Stevenson Athletic Center.
Bard (6-1) had four Raptors in double-digit points, with senior
Rowan Heinze leading the team with 19 points. Heinze shot 8-of-11 from the field and added six rebounds, a steal, and an assist. Senior
Elliot Harris had 13 points and grabbed five boards while dishing out four assists.
Senior
Lazaros Panagiotounis had 12 points and added four assists and five rebounds, while fellow senior
Heston Tucker had 11 points and grabbed three rebounds. Junior
Sean Wilcox grabbed six rebounds and added four points. Senior
Azriel Almodovar had five points and five rebounds and a team-high three steals.
The Raptors shot 49.1 percent from the field, including going 16-of-28 in the second half. Bard only had two turnovers in the second half and 11 overall, which is the team's lowest turnover total so far this season. It is the first time in the program's history the Raptors had a 6-1 start of the season, surpassing the 5-1 best season back in 2003-04.
Bard will travel to Old Westbury on Tuesday at 7 p.m.
