SCHENECTADY, N.Y. - The Bard College men's basketball team defeated Union College, 70-65, in a Liberty League game on Friday night.
Down 19 with 2:27 left in the first half, and down 10 at halftime, Bard outscored Union, 42-27, in the second half to pull out the victory.
"I loved the fight and togetherness we showed to come from 19 down and get a comeback win," Bard coach
Michael Lenahan said. "It would have been easy to hang our heads, but instead we kept chipping away, one possession at the time, and pulled it out. Everyone on the team played a role in making it possible."
Tyler Bruns led Bard in scoring with 17 points, including the three-pointer with 41 seconds left that gave Bard the lead for good.
Greg Farrow had 15 points and eight rebounds.
Azriel Almodovar finished with 13 points, including making 4-of-6 from the foul line in the final 20 seconds as Union fouled in desperation.
Elliot Harris hit a trio of three-pointers and added 11 points.
The Raptors travel to Poughkeepsie on Saturday to face defending Liberty League champion Vassar.
