ANNANDALE-ON-HUDSON, N.Y. - The Bard College baseball team lost a pair of games to Rochester Institute of Technology on Saturday, sending RIT onto the Liberty League playoffs and ending the Raptors' season at 15-17.
RIT swept the doubleheader, 5-3 and 6-2.
"I'm proud of this team," Bard coach
Andy Salvatore said. "It was not the result we expected today, but we have a lot to be excited about for the future of the program."
Jordan Myers went 3-for-4 in Game 1, while
Jack Williamson,
Jared Toby and Michael Hannan drove in one run apiece.
Justin Fiume had two hits and drove in a run in Game 2. The games turned out to be the final ones in the careers of Myers, Fiume,
Spencer Checkoway,
Andrew Roberge,
Frank Rybicki,
Evan Matthews, Rob Arciola and
Alex Luscher.
Bard's 15 wins matched the most in program history. The winning percentage was the best in program history.
