NEW PALTZ, N.Y. - The Bard College men's volleyball team lost to New Paltz, 3-0, in the United Volleyball Conference opener for both teams on Wednesday night.
New Paltz swept the match 25-18, 25-17 and 25-9. The Hawks are two-time national champions and currently in the "Receiving Votes" category of the American Volleyball Coaches Association Div. III poll.
"We played with a lot of heart against a championship-caliber team," Bard coach
Adam Niemczynowicz said. "We fought together and embraced the challenge."
Bard got seven kills and three digs from
Ty McGlynn, 12 assists and three digs from
Josh Kim, and three kills and three aces from
Angel Obergh.
Bard travels to New York City on Friday to take on 10th-ranked NYU in another UVC match.
