BROOKLYN, N.Y. - The Bard College men's volleyball team lost to New York University, 3-0, in a United Volleyball Conference match on Friday night.
NYU is ranked No. 10 in the latest American Volleyball Coaches Association poll, but Bard hung tough, losing in three sets 25-20, 25-18 and 25-20.
"It was fun to watch the team come together and fight for each other against such a strong UVC team," Bard coach
Adam Niemczynowicz said.
Bard got nine kills from
Angel Obergh, seven kills and eight digs from
Ty McGlynn, and 16 assists from
Josh Kim.
"We've got to be able to close out sets better," Niemczynowicz said, "especially against strong, well-coached teams like NYU."
Bard next hosts second-ranked Vassar on Tuesday night.
