ANNANDALE-ON-HUDSON, N.Y. - The Bard College men's volleyball team defeated College of Mount St. VIncent, 3-0 and 3-0, in a rare doubleheader on Saturday.
A quirk in the schedule meant that the teams played twice, Bard winning the first match 25-15, 25-12 and 25-18, and the second match 25-18, 25-21 and 25-22.
"It was good to see the team play together and win two matches," Bard coach
Adam Niemczynowicz said. "These are good building blocks for us."
In the first match,
Ty McGlynn led Bard with 17 kills and five aces,
Josh Kim had 27 assists, and
Ben Casler had six digs. In the second match, McGlynn had 16 kills and four aces,
Angel Obergh added 13 kills and four aces,
Gavin Hersey had four blocks, Kim had 32 assists and Casler added 11 digs.
Bard next opens United Volleyball Conference play at New Paltz on Wednesday.
