Bard coach
John Weitz was pleased with the effort.
"This was a great finish to our season, as the team really responded well to the taper," Weitz said. "Every swimmer swam at least season-best times, and 87 percent of our races were lifetime bests."
On Day 1 of the meet,
Natasha Cameron broke the Bard record in the 200-individual medley, placing 22nd overall, and
Laurel Edwards set a new Bard mark in the 50-free.
On Day 2,
Freddy Coronel swam a lifetime best and placed 15th in the 100-fly.
On Day 3,
John Reisert lowered his Bard record in the 200-fly, dropping two seconds of a mark he set in December.
On Day 4,
Laurel Edwards set a new team mark in the 100-free.
"Overall, we were very happy with not only the team's performance, but that attitude and support they displayed all week," Weitz said. "It's been two years since we swam a multi-day meet like this and it was as much fun as I've had coaching in decades. This group of swimmers showed great courage in their races, tremendous support for each other and amazing pride in being Bard Raptors."
