Gadron, Coronel, Reisert pick up wins at William Paterson

WAYNE, N.J. - The Bard College men's swimming team lost to William Paterson University, 90-76, in a non-league meet on Saturday afternoon.

Complete results

Tom Gadron won the 1,000-free and the 100-back, Freddy Coronel Jr. won the 200-IM and the 100-fly, and John Reisert rallied to win the 500-free.

"We had to leave a lot of swimmers home for this meet, but those who swam, really swam well," Bard coach John Weitz said. "Tom Gadron put up season bests in the 1,000-free and 100-back for his two wins,  Freddy Coronel also swam a season best swim in the 100-fly on the way to his two indivdual wins. John Reisert's win in the 500 was really impressive.  Trailing by over a body length for the first 350 yards he picked up the pace with about 150 to go and pulled away in the last 50 yards for the win."

Bard will head to the Vassar Sprint Invitational next weekend.

"We were very glad to have the opportunity to race," Weitz said. "Having the last two meets canceled has put us a little behind in preparation for Liberty League Championships in February. But if today's swims are any indication, it looks like we will be ready."
