The Bard College men's soccer team has initiated a fundraising effort to battle cancer in children.

In partnership with Vs. Cancer, the members of the team have set up individual fundraising pages online, as well as a team page, with a goal of raising $5,000. The effort will culminate with a Vs. Cancer game against St. Joseph's College of Brooklyn on Sept. 18 at 5:30 p.m. in Annandale.

More children die of cancer than any other disease, and among those cancers, brain tumors are the deadliest. Funds raised through Vs. Cancer will benefit the Pediatric Brain Tumor Foundation. Fifty percent of your donation will go to child life programs at local hospitals, and fifty percent will go to research to find a cure for pediatric brain tumors.
