CANTON, N.Y. - The Bard College men's swimming team lost to St. Lawrence University, 61-53, in a Liberty League meet on Saturday afternoon.

Bard had a pair of double winners in John Reisert, who won the 1,000- and 500-free, and Henry Lipson, who won the 50- and 100-free.

"It was a great close meet," Bard coach John Weitz said. "The score went back and forth with just about every race.

"John Reisert had a great meet," Weitz continued. "His swim in the 1,000 got us off to a great start. The 1,000/500 double is a tough one in the 13-event format and he had two very solid swims, winning both. Henry Lipson stepped up big for us. He's been managing back pain all season. Along with John's swims, Henry's two victories kept us in the meet."

Bard will next compete at Sarah Lawrence on Thursday.
