CANTON, N.Y. - The Bard College women's volleyball team lost to St. Lawrence University, 3-0, in a Liberty League match on Saturday afternoon.

"The team bounced bck really well from a tough loss last night and improved their performance in several areas," Bard coach
Stefanie Carrington said. "We talked a lot about improving our blocking game so we were really happy to earn three big blocks early in the first set to establish our presence at the net. We were able to get our serve/pass game back on track as well, which has been the foundation of our play all season."
Emily Smith led Bard with eight kills (.294),
Adi David had 17 assists, and
Annie Couey and
Puja Clements had 11 digs apiece.
"Emily smith is steadily emerging as an effective pin hitter and sets the tone with how hard she works and how fearless she is as an attacker," Carrington said. "
Puja Clements and
Annie Couey were a stellar defensive combo this afternoon. Their tenacity helped keep us in rally after rally."
