ANNANDALE-ON-HUDSON, N.Y. - The Bard College women's soccer team lost to seventh-ranked William Smith College, 5-0, in a Liberty League game on Saturday afternoon.

It was 2-0 at halftime.

"I was really proud of the way our team handled the pressure of William Smith's attack," Bard coach Kate Hofstede said. "This is the first game where I believe we made the opponent work for their goals. It was a fun game to watch in that the energy was high and the communication was apparent."

Seymone Rosenberg made four saves for Bard; Sam Finn made six, and Madeline Chilton made five as the keepers each played about 30 minutes.

"The tone has now been set for the rest of the season," Hofstede said. "I'm looking forward to our continued growth through training this week."

Bard next hosts Ithaca College on Saturday at 1.
