ANNANDALE-ON-HUDSON, N.Y. - The Bard College women's volleyball team lost a non-league match to SUNY Delhi on Tuesday night, 3-0.
Set scores for the Broncos were 25-13, 25-17 and 25-21.
"Our energy was a little off tonight and we knew it as early as warmups," Bard coach
Stefanie Carrington said. "It was a different sort of challenge from what we've experienced so far this season, but every experience helps us grow as a team. Tonight was about being gritty and manufacturing points in whatever way we could. We ground it out and did better and better every game so we're happy with that though we certainly want to play a much more competitive game this weekend when we get back to league play."
Bard got six kills from
Anna Skamser, 10 digs from
Puja Clements, and 18 assists from
Adi David.
"
Anna Skamser has become a really consistent offensive force for us over the last few matches and she continued that trend tonight," Carrington said. ". She's done a great job of varying her attacks and was able to score from several places across the net in a really reliable way.
Morenike Fabiyi was another really bright spot tonight. Over the course of the season she has contributed in a variety of ways and tonight it was her passing and defense that helped provide a spark when we needed it."
Bard's final two Liberty League games of the season are coming up at home on Friday (Ithaca) and Saturday (RIT).
