Game Recap: Men's Volleyball |

Raptors defeated by #3 NYU in UVC play

ANNANDALE-ON-HUDSON, N.Y. - The Bard College men's volleyball team dropped its second United Volleyball Conference (UVC) match of the season, falling 3-0 to third ranked New York University (NYU) Wednesday evening.

The Violets (9-0, 3-0 UVC) started hot, as six first set kills from Kyle Rasmussen (Oak Park, Ill.) and eight assists from Ryan Li (San Jose, Calif.) helped NYU jump out to a 17-2 lead, as the visitors picked up a 25-6 victory in set one. The Raptors (1-11, 0-2 UVC) fared a little better in the second set, but were unable to break through. Despite two kills apiece in the set from juniors Joshua Han and Radoslav Skular, the Violets again pulled away, winning a 25-13 decision.

NYU went on to close things out in three sets, as a strong attack from the third ranked team in the country proved to be too much for Bard. NYU won the third set 25-11 as Rasumssen added to his game-high nine kills.

Han led the Raptors on the night with five kills, while Skular picked up four. Freshman Angel Obergh had nine assists for Bard, and both junior Colin Schroeder and senior Brian Lee earned four digs during the match.

The Raptors return to the court Tuesday, Feb. 25, when they host Wilkes University at 7:00 p.m.
