BROOKLYN, N.Y. - The Bard College men's basketball team lost to Pratt Institute, 71-61, in a non-league road game on Tuesday evening.
The Raptors jumped out to a 14-5 lead, but three-point shooting got the Cannoneers back into the game. They used a 13-0 run over the course of two-plus minutes late in the half to take a 38-35 lead into the break. Pratt made 7-of-14 three-pointers in the first 20 minutes.
The teams traded the lead a few times early in the second half, but a 9-2 run midway through gave Pratt a lead it did not relinquish. The key juncture came between the six- and four-minute mark, when Pratt went on an 8-0 run to push a 54-52 lead to 62-52. Bard trimmed the deficit to five with just over three minutes left but was unable to get any closer down the stretch.
Pratt's guards, Patrick O'Gorman (Glen Ridge, NJ) and Griffin Levine (Dallas, TX), scored 20 points apiece in the victory.
Bard got 17 points and nine rebounds from sophomore
Stamatis Koulouris, and a career-high 15 points on 7-of-8 shooting from freshman
Kevin Le.
Elliot Harris and
Andres Pacheco added nine points apiece.
