ANNANDALE-ON-HUDSON, N.Y. - The Bard College men's basketball team was unable to rebound following a Friday loss to Clarkson University, as the Raptors fell 70-48 to St. Lawrence University Saturday afternoon.
The Raptors (0-11, 0-5 LL) fell behind early, but came back to take a 7-6 lead following five points from freshman guard
Elliot Harris, who came up just short of a double-double with 19 points and nine rebounds on the day. The Saints (3-8, 1-4 LL) then went on a dominant stretch to take control of the game, scoring 19 unanswered points to build a 25-7 lead late in the first half. Bard then went on an 8-2 run to end the period, closing the gap to 12 points going into the intermission.
Following two three-pointers by Harris early in the second, the Raptors cut the St. Lawrence lead to 37-27. However, the Saints were able to pull away as freshman forward Trent Adamson (Ilion, N.Y.) scored 10 points in a five-minute span to put the game out of reach. The visitors then built their lead to over 20 points as they came away with their first conference victory of the season.
Freshman guard
Stefanos Psarras scored 12 points and grabbed six rebounds, while sophomore forward
Stamatis Koulouris added five points, seven rebounds and a team-leading four assists.
The Raptors now head up north, as they travel to Schenectady, N.Y. to face conference foe Union College Friday evening, with tip-off scheduled for 7:30 p.m.
