ANNANDALE-ON-HUDSON, N.Y. - The Bard College women's tennis team swept Hartwick in a non-league match on Saturday, starting the season with two wins, less than 24 hours apart.
After a tight 5-4 win over Mount St. Mary on Friday night, the Raptors took care of business right away against Hartwick early Saturday afternoon, sweeping all three doubles matches without yielding a game.
At No. 1 singles, freshman
Diana McCready cruised, 6-2, 6-0.
Katie Esposito (No. 2),
Katri Shields (No. 3) and
Mia Chan (No. 5) did not give up a game in defeating their opponents, while
Nico Gusac gave up just one game at No. 4, and
Duhita Das won 6-3, 6-3, at No. 6.
The Raptors next play at Western Connecticut State on Sunday, Sept. 15.
