Late goal sinks Raptors at Sage

ALBANY, N.Y. - The Bard College women's soccer team lost a heartbreaker on Wednesday night, losing to Sage on a goal in the 88th minute, 1-0.

The match was evenly played throughout. Shots were 6-6 at halftime, and both squads had opportunities to score. Freshman Paige Sangston got off a pair of shots in the latter portion of the first half that were saved by Sage keeper Kallan Shertzer (Clifton Park, NY). In the final minute of the half, Bard keeper Abigail Stanley stopped Hallie Klosterman (Modena, NY) from close range to keep the game scoreless.

In the 56th minute, Sage's Angela Gonzalez (Hoosick Falls, NY) hit the post off a free kick from 30 yards in the center of the field. She got another chance from the same spot in the 88th minute, and she buried it just inside the post to give Sage the victory.

Sage outshot Bard, 14-12, in the game. Stanley made eight saves and Shertzer made seven. Sangston produced three of Bard's seven shots on goal.

Up next for Bard is the Drew Fall Festival. The Raptors will play Coast Guard on Saturday, and Drew on Sunday. Follow both games live right here.
