TROY, N.Y. - The Bard College women's soccer team lost to RPI, 6-0, in the Liberty League opener for both teams on Saturday.
RPI opened the scoring in the fifth minute, when Emily Kaplan (Smithtown, NY) took a pass from Whitney Wisnom (Hillsborough, CA) and got a shot past
Abigail Stanley for a 1-0 lead. Kaplan scored an unassisted goal in the 25th minute, and it was 2-0 at halftime, with the hosts holding a 12-4 edge in shots.
Kaplan completed a hat trick with her third goal in the 49th minute, and the Engineers (3-2-2, 1-0-0 Liberty League) added three more in the second half - one from Wisnom, one from Gigi Mecca (Wallingford, CT), and one from Akaela Feng (Blacksburg, VA).
Abby Frazier produced a pair of shots on goal for Bard (3-5-0, 0-1-0). Stanley made four saves in the first half, and
Skylar Farmer made two saves in the second half.
