ANNANDALE-ON-HUDSON, N.Y. - In their final game of 2019, the Bard College men's basketball team fell to Liberty League opponent RPI by a 76-46 score Wednesday evening.
The Raptors (0-8, 0-3 LL) played evenly with the Engineers (6-2, 3-0 LL) early on, as freshman guard
Elliot Harris scored five quick points for Bard. With RPI leading 10-5 six minutes into the first half, freshman guard
Kevin Le and sophomore forward
Stamatis Koulouris made back-to-back baskets to get the Raptors within a point, but the Engineers then started to pull away. The visitors went on a 24-4 run to blow the game open late in the half, taking a 35-17 lead into the intermission.
The Raptors looked to trim the lead early in the second following a pair of three pointers from both freshman guard
Andres Pacheco and freshman guard
Stefanos Psarras. The baskets cut the Engineers' lead down to 15 points, but Bard was never able to close the gap. RPI followed up the Raptors' push with nine consecutive points to put the game out of reach, and cruised the rest of the way to a 76-46 conference win.
Psarras led Bard on the night with 15 points, while Harris picked up 10. Pacheco chipped in with nine points and four rebounds as well.
Following the winter break, the Raptors return to the court Tuesday, Jan. 7 for a 5:00 p.m. road matchup with Pratt Institute.
